Bad News for the New York Knicks

Knicks best point guard, Stephon Marbury has announced to continue his basketball career in Italy after his contract expires. The replacement for a new point guard has begun for the Knicks. The Knicks have been in a drought for the last 5 seasons and will go into a deeper one after Marbury's absense. Jamal Crawford can't play the point guard position for the majority of the games, as he admits he's not comfortable with the role. Nate Robinson would be a consideration for a point guard role and is gaining experience from the summer league. Before the Knicks played the New Jersey Nets in last night's summer league game, Knicks coach Thomas told reporters,"Nate is our best player every day in practice so far. Eventually, I think those things will carry over into the game."

Allan Houston Gives Up on Come Back Attempt

"After much consideration, I have decided to end my comeback with the Knicks,” Houston said. “While my body and my knees, in particular, feel fine, I know what is required for me to be truly effective in the NBA again, and it involves a timing and progression that would not be fair to Isiah and the Knicks right now. With the season opening less than two weeks away, I think it is best for the team to move on without me. I appreciate the opportunity that Isiah and the Knicks have given me, and I wish the team nothing but success." - Allan Houston

Josh Howard Suspended

Tuesday, October 16. (Pre-season game)

Josh Howard is suspended two games without pay involving an incident with Brad Miller from the Sacramento Kings. Howard over-reacted by giving Miller a forearm in the back of his head after Miller shoved Devin Harris to the ground. Mavericks beat the Kings 101-99. He will serve his suspension in opening season when Dallas faces Cleveland.

2007-2008 NBA Season On It's Way!

There are no special events going on in the NBA at the momemt. Allan Houston is coming out of his retirement and rejoing the New York Knicks. He recovered from a two year career ending injury. The new NBA season tip-off is in 17 days. Until then, NBA summer league games are going on and only televised on NBAtv. The summer league is really made for rookies getting a taste of the NBA. Alot of people assume that the top teams in the summer league are the prospective top teams for the new season coming up, but in reality that rarely happens. In the summer league most top players are resting their bodies and playing few minutes to avoid injuries before the new season starts and to prepare for when it really counts.

Penny Hardaway Attempts Comeback

At age 36, Penny is attempting a comeback with the Miami Heats and former teammate Shaquille O' Neal. He believes his veteran leadership and experience will help him win a championship. Although it is not going to be an easy task, he is going to have to battle for minutes with the younger, more althletic Dorell Wright, Devin Green, and Jeremy Richardson. He is capable of playing both power forward and at the gaurd position. Hardaway already has had two major knee surgeries but has never underestimated himself from the game of basketball. The former All-Star and three-time All-NBA Selection Hardaway said, ''I can still play basketball. I'm excited to get the opportunity to prove it again. I'm finally healthy, and everything that's been a major obstacle is totally out of the way.''

Pat Riley is giving his full support toward his comeback and believes Hardaway and his fellow NBA Champion and All-Star Dywane Wade will be a successful backcourt.

How Far Can The Boston Celtics Go?

Everyone was wondering how the Boston Celtics were going to perform with three hall of famers on one team. The Boston Celtics played the Toronto Raptors in an exibition game in Rome. The big three for the Celtics made a huge impact, resulting in a thrilling win.

Garnett was a monster on the boards. They played extremely unselfishly and had extremely good chemistry. James Posey, Rajon Rondo, and Eddie House made there presence felt too by cleaning up the boards and assisting there big three. Eddie House scored 14.

Celtics can be very dangerous team if they continue to play together and also have a chance to win a championship.
